{"id":19896,"date":"2026-10-11T11:57:54","date_gmt":"2026-10-11T11:57:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theboholtimes.com\/?p=19896"},"modified":"2026-10-11T11:57:55","modified_gmt":"2026-10-11T11:57:55","slug":"new-lights-brighten-salazar-street-in-tagbilaran","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theboholtimes.com\/?p=19896","title":{"rendered":"New lights brighten Salazar Street in Tagbilaran"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">FRANCISCO Salazar Street, which traverses Barangays Ubujan and Tiptip, is now brighter and safer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This follows the installation of new street lights by the City Government of Tagbilaran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mayor Jane Yap led the ceremonial switching on of the new lights on September 29, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She was joined by Barangay Ubujan officials led by Barangay Captain Mary Jane Ruiz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also present were Barangay Tiptip officials headed by Barangay Captain Jeminador Lantape and members of the barangay council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">City Engineer Teodoro Estoque also joined the activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The street lighting project forms part of the city government&#8217;s continuing efforts to improve road visibility and enhance public safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It particularly benefits roads used by pedestrians, commuters, and motorists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yap said the city continues to install modern and energy-efficient street lights in areas where improved illumination is needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe City of Tagbilaran continues to install new street lights aimed at improving visibility and safety for both residents and visitors,\u201d Yap said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are installing modern and energy-efficient street lights that generate brighter and longer-lasting light,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The improved lighting is expected to provide better visibility for pedestrians, commuters, and motorists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is especially important along portions of the road with regular vehicular and foot traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yap also said brighter streets could help discourage criminal activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She explained that better lighting reduces poorly illuminated areas and makes roads and surrounding spaces more visible at night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project is part of a series of street-lighting initiatives being implemented across the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In recent months, street lights were also upgraded along Enerio Street in Barangay Dampas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Upgrades were also completed along Dagohoy Street in Barangays Manga and Tiptip, and along Buhion Street in Barangays San Isidro and Cabawan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The continuing upgrades aim to improve road visibility and contribute to safer and better-lit streets in different parts of Tagbilaran City.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FRANCISCO Salazar Street, which traverses Barangays Ubujan and Tiptip, is now brighter and safer.
