FORMER Tagbilaran City Mayor Atty. Dan Neri Lim has issued a statement on the dismissal of the \u201cinciting to sedition\u201d case against him and critic Willy Ramasola and DYRD\/Bohol Chronicle Editor Peter Dejaresco filed by Gov. Arthur Yap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This came after the Makati City Prosecutor\u2019s Office has dismissed the inciting to sedition filed by Gov. Arthur C. Yap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Makati City Prosecutor\u2019s Office\u2019s scrapping of Yap\u2019s complaint issued on May 31, 2022 on Yap\u2019s complaint was due to lack of probable cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lim said that it is \u201csimple harassment\u201d against the critics of the governor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that the governor\u2019s attempt to bring his critics to court of law is tantamount to \u201ccurtailment of press freedom and of expression.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The governor\u2019s action is not only to silence his critics but it\u2019s also an abuse of authority, the former city mayor added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And for BTMA president, Ric Obedencio, the dismissal of the said case is like \u201cjustice is served. The BTMA have to keep fighting still,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dismissal of the said case is the second whammy the outgoing governor got in May, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first is that when Yap was trounced by 2nd district Rep. Aris Aumentado in the gubernatorial race in May 9, 2022 elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The former got only 283,903 votes against the latter\u2019s historic tally 469,736 or a margin of 185,833 votes, the biggest, so far, in the electoral history of the province. (rvo)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
