LOCAL Government Units (LGUs) across Bohol are translating Executive Order (EO) No. 40, Series of 2026, into concrete dengue prevention and response measures as the province continues to address the ongoing dengue outbreak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Issued by Governor Erico Aristotle \u201cAris\u201d Aumentado, the directive calls for intensified coordination among provincial and local governments, health workers, barangays, and communities to strengthen dengue prevention, surveillance, early consultation, and response.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Candijay, the Provincial Health Office (PHO), in coordination with the municipal government, conducted a Dengue Response Strengthening, Entomological Survey, and Search and Destroy Activity on September 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The activity brought together Mayor Thamar Olaivar, Municipal Health Officer Dr. Pristine Faith Sumera, Department of Health Representative Ryard Pepito, barangay officials, and barangay health workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Provincial Health Office (PHO) personnel Polizena Rances, Elma Lumanas, and Dan Blyke Bantugan also participated in the field activity, supporting local efforts to assess mosquito breeding conditions and reinforce preventive measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The activity also featured the United Against Dengue Pledge of Commitment led by Mayor Olaivar, with local leaders, health workers, and community representatives committing to strengthened dengue prevention, health education, early consultation, and the regular elimination of mosquito-breeding sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, LGU Mabini advanced its local response through the Municipal Multi-sectoral Dengue Response and Action-Planning Conference held September 7 at the Mabini Primary Care Facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference convened local officials, barangay representatives, health workers, and other stakeholders to review the municipality\u2019s dengue situation, identify priority interventions, and strengthen coordination among sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rances, Lumanas, and Bantugan likewise provided technical support from the PHO during the planning activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Importante nga magtinabangay ug magbantay kita aron mapugngan ang dugang pagkatag sa dengue sa atong mga komunidad,” Gov. Aumentado wrote on Facebook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Atong limpyohan kanunay ang atong mga palibot, ilabi na ang mga dapit diin adunay nagtapok o napundok nga tubig nga mahimong pamugaran sa mga lamok,” he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The parallel activities in Candijay and Mabini underscore the province\u2019s approach of translating the provincial directive into localized action, with LGUs assessing their respective situations, coordinating with health authorities, and mobilizing communities against dengue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Bohol continues its province-wide dengue response, the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) is urging communities to sustain regular search-and-destroy activities, eliminate possible mosquito breeding sites, observe dengue prevention practices, and seek early medical consultation when symptoms arise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
