THE City Government of Tagbilaran held a two-day writeshop for the city\u2019s Integrated Coastal Management (ICM) Plan on August 10\u201311, 2026 at JJ\u2019s Seafood Village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The activity was led by the Tagbilaran City Environmental Management Office (TCEMO) with technical support from Catholic Relief Services (CRS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Representatives from key city departments, national government agencies, and partner organizations joined the writeshop to draft a comprehensive framework for coastal resource management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Planning sessions focused on major components of the proposed ICM Plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These included environmental profiling, coastal zoning, climate change adaptation, fisheries management, coastal resource protection, and law enforcement strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Participating offices included the City Planning and Development Office, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), City Health Office, and City Agriculture and Veterinary Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Other stakeholders involved in environmental management and coastal governance also took part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
TCEMO officials said the writeshop was designed to ensure the ICM Plan adopts a unified, science-based, and multi-sectoral approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The goal is to balance environmental preservation with sustainable development objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mayor Jane Yap said the completion of the writeshop represents an important step in protecting Tagbilaran\u2019s coastal ecosystems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She added it will also strengthen the city\u2019s long-term climate resilience strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The city government noted that the ICM Plan is expected to serve as a strategic guide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It will guide future coastal management policies, environmental protection programs, and sustainable development initiatives in Tagbilaran City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
TCEMO Head Engr. Raul Aparicio II said the outputs generated during the writeshop will undergo further refinement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
