THE local government of Tagbilaran City and its City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) were recently recognized for their steadfast and continuous efforts in strengthening local and regional disaster resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The accolade, a Plaque of Recognition, was conferred by the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council during a ceremony held on February 16, 2026, in Cebu City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Marko Emmanuel Longjas, head of the CDRRMO Research and Planning Division, received the award on behalf of CDRRMO Head Gerard Lavadia and the City Government of Tagbilaran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

City Mayor Jane Yap expressed her sincere gratitude to the Regional DRRM Council for acknowledging the city\u2019s efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also highlighted the dedication of the CDRRMO team, city responders, volunteers, and partner agencies who work tirelessly to ensure public safety and preparedness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe recognition serves as a reminder that strong planning, effective coordination, and collective action are key to a resilient and disaster-ready Tagbilaran,\u201d Mayor Yap said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tagbilaran City has been a consistent awardee of the prestigious Gawad Kalasag Seal of Excellence \u2013 Beyond Compliant Local Government Unit Award for both 2023 and 2024, solidifying its status as a leading DRRM performer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These recognitions reflect Tagbilaran\u2019s unwavering commitment to disaster risk reduction and management, as it continues to enhance preparedness through improved early warning systems, upgraded evacuation logistics, and the integration of DRRM education at the barangay level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
