DEVELOPING and promoting new Bohol tourism products, sites and activities are being eyed apparently to disperse traffic tourists and spread progress that may vividly showcase Bohol as a resource-rich and not a transformation-poor but also a designated as UNESCO Global GeoPark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bohol Tourism Executive committee meeting presided over by co-chair Atty. Doy Nunag, along with tourism committee chairperson provincial Board Member Atty. Jamie Villamor, Bohol Provincial Tourism Office head Joanne Mendez Pinat, provincial administrator Aster Caberte and tourism sectoral representations dealt with this vision for the community to take part of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The focus now is shifted to the second congressional district composed of 14 towns to be promoted distinct from the usual tourism circuit, such the Panglao\u2019s white sand beaches to Carmen town\u2019s Chocolate Hills are located or the historical and cultural heritage in centuries-old edifices like churches and private houses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bohol\u2019s Second district facing Cebu province is where the country\u2019s Danajon Double Barrier Reefs, Getafe\u2019s man-made mangrove forest and the sea horse sanctuary and Buenavista\u2019s the oyster farm are located. There\u2019s only one extreme adventure in landlocked town of Danao where the extreme activities, such as the zipline, spelunking, the suislide (the Plunge), cable car, giant swing and zip-bike in the enigmatic sanctuary of then Francisco Sendrijas, a.k.a. \u201cDagohoy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are but few tourist destinations that not only for visitors\u2019 enjoyment and experience but for the community concerned to be involved in as their source of livelihood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nunag said that the meeting came up with the plan to gather soon all stakeholders and discuss these new products\/sites and activities being mentioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This surfaced following Bohol bounced back as its tourists arrivals posted an increase in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A report showed that partial tourist arrivals hit 1,427,362 in 2025, or 4.18% hike from  2024 figures, Pinat, head of the Bohol Provincial Tourism Office (BPTO) said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBohol\u2019s top foreign source markets remain South Korea, China, the United States, Taiwan, and France. The BPTO added that Spain, Australia, and Russia registered the highest growth rates.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And domestic tourist arrivals accounted for 58.99 percent of total arrivals<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bohol has been known or recognized by tourism industry and international experts as Best Tourism Destination Province in the Philippines among the country\u2019s 82 provinces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
