This is an event uniting dozens of couples in a beautiful celebration of love and commitment.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>THE City Government of Tagbilaran once again affirmed its commitment to family welfare as 93 couples were formally united in marriage through the city\u2019s annual \u201cLibreng Kasalan sa Tagbilaran\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The celebration was held over two days, beginning yesterday with a church wedding ceremony at the St. Joseph Cathedral, where 59 couples exchanged vows in a solemn rite witnessed by their families and guests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event will conclude today with a civil wedding ceremony at the City Hall Atrium, where an additional 34 couples will be legally married.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The &#8220;Libreng Kasalan&#8221; program, now an annual city tradition, was institutionalized during the term of then Mayor and now Congressman John Geesnell \u201cBaba\u201d Yap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It aims to help couples formalize their unions while easing the financial burden associated with wedding expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the initiative, the City Government provided each couple with a complete wedding package at no cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The package included bridal gowns with veils, barongs and slacks for grooms, wedding rings, professional hair and makeup services, bridal bouquets and corsages, wedding decorations, photo and video coverage, sound system support, and meals for family members and witnesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mayor Jane Yap congratulated the newlyweds and reiterated the city\u2019s commitment to sustaining the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Libreng Kasalan&#8221; reflects our dedication to strengthening families in Tagbilaran.
