THE City Government of Tagbilaran has further strengthened its disaster preparedness and emergency response with the turnover of a brand-new ambulance and pick-up vehicle to the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) on September 29, 2025, at the City Hall Atrium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mayor Jane Yap led the turnover of the vehicles, marking the city\u2019s commitment to equipping frontline responders with the tools necessary to protect lives during emergencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The vehicles were formally received by Melvin Costan, representing City DRRM Officer Gerard Lavadia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new ambulance will enhance the city\u2019s capacity to deliver immediate medical care and transport patients safely during critical situations, while the pick-up will be utilized to support disaster operations, logistics, and rapid response missions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mayor Yap said the turnover highlights the administration\u2019s priority on public safety and resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEvery investment in disaster readiness is an investment in saving lives. These vehicles will enable our CDRRMO to respond faster and more effectively, ensuring that our people are protected in times of need,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The addition of these vehicles complements the city\u2019s broader disaster risk reduction strategy, which includes continuous training of responders, procurement of emergency equipment, and strengthening partnerships with communities and organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tagbilaran City has consistently been recognized for its disaster risk reduction efforts, having been awarded the Gawad Kalasag Seal of Excellence\u2014Beyond Compliant Local Government Unit Award in both 2023 and 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
