TAGBILARAN City Mayor Jane Yap and Vice Mayor Adam Jala have officially joined the nationwide call for integrity in public service, signing the Manifesto for Good Governance under the Mayors for Good Governance (M4GG) and Vice Mayors for Good Governance (VMGG) coalitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of the August 27, 2025 update, Mayor Yap remains the only mayor from Bohol and the entire Central Visayas to be part of M4GG, while Vice Mayor Jala adds Tagbilarans voice to the VMGG alliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together, these movements now represent over 100 local government units across the country united in the fight for transparency and accountability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The coalition recently released a strong collective statement calling for full transparency, accountability, and justice in relation to the 350 billion worth of flood control projects currently under investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The probe, ordered by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. during his July 28, 2025 State of the Nation Address, follows allegations of widespread corruption involving government officials and favored contractors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mayor Yap emphasized Tagbilaran Citys firm stance on ethical leadership, stating: \u201cGood governance is the foundation of real progress. By joining M4GG, Tagbilaran is adding its voice to a nationwide call to end corruption, protect our people, and ensure that public funds truly serve the public.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The M4GG and VM4GG coalitions have stressed that those proven guilty of corruption must not only be removed from office but also face prosecution and imprisonment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The roster of signatories continues to grow as more local leaders pledge to uphold clean and accountable governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Formed in August 2023 at the University of the Philippines Diliman, these alliances unite reform-driven leaders under a shared commitment to integrity, citizen participation, equitable development, and efficient public service.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
