THE respondents in the Omb-V-A-Jul-24-0127 for Abuse of Authority, Gross Neglect of Duty and Misconduct case filed by then Calape Mayor Julius Caesar Herrera refused to receive the Ombudsman order, according to a reliable source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The source said that three incumbents being dismissed from public service, Kagawads Aileen D. Veloso, Ma. Leonora G. Rulona and Jeannie Verano did not show up in their session on Monday, August 4 when the Ombudsman team served the order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Ombudsman team also served the copies of the order to those last termer kagawads, then Vice-Mayor now Mayor Junie Yu and then Mayor Herrera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The said order was implemented since it is \u201cimmediately executory\u201d even if the respondents filed a motion for reconsideration, the source said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In serving the order, the team went to each residence of the respondents but only to be refused, the source said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The source said that Brgy. Kapitan Amado Samijon, Liga ng mga Barangay president and Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman Cambangay still allegedly reported to work despite the serving of the Ombudsman order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the respondents, SB member Ancog, who did not run since it was her last term allegedly reported to work after her appointment as Senior Citizens Head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then SB Member Josol, who ran for Vice-Mayor, but lost to Atty. Roldan Damalerio, did not report to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It will be recalled that the Ombudsman for the Visayas has recently indicted Sangguniang Bayan members of Calape town for violation of section 3(e), republic Act No. 3019, Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, as amended. And it recommended for the filing of criminal charges against the said SB members in proper court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Ombudsman found probable cause against SB Members \u201cJoyce M. Josol, Maria Aileen D. Veloso, Jeannie Verano, Ma. Leonora G. Rulona, Bella C. Ancog, Amado T. Samijon and Mark Louise C. Cambangay in conspiracy with each other for violation of section 3(e) of Republic Act No. 3019, as amended. Accordingly, let the corresponding information for violation of section 3(e) of RA 3019 against them be filed in the proper court\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Ombudsman for the Visayas has held respondents\/members administratively liable for grave misconduct, according to the order of the Ombudsman\u2019s office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For administrative sanction, \u201cThey\u2019re meted the penalty of dismissal from public service with accessory penalties of cancellation of eligibility, forfeiture of retirement benefits, perpetual disqualification from holding public office and taking civil service examination is imposed on them,\u201d the Ombudsman said.
