TAGBILARAN City Mayor Jane Cajes-Yap has pressed the parents to talk to their children during the mediation attempt at her office on Friday over the kids\u2019 involvement in a melee in a gas station at Pres. Carlos P. Garcia Avenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cParents, please give time to talk to your children and even check their social media accounts. Please open their messages and check red flags. And, Kids, listen,\u201d Mayor Yap said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The said reconciliation has resulted to \u201cBoth parties admitted their mistakes. Both asked for forgiveness\u2014to their parents and to each other.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of the 11 students linked to the street fight, only three kids reported to their parents, and \u201cnone reported to their school. Their parents only found out through social media.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to the reconciliation, Yap minced no words of giving stern warning to parents and schools concerned to surrender the young kids who are believed to be the students allegedly involved in a fist fight. \u201cSurrender mo sa akong opisina ugma, Agosto 1, before 5\u201900 PM,\u201d the lady city mayors said. If not, all of the city government and other agencies concerned will find you, she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mayor pointed out that the four out-of-school youth involved in the fight \u201cwill undergo two weeks of voluntary work and psychosocial assessment at our Teen Center.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe 4 out-of-school youth will be given a chance to enter the seminary, away from bad influences, to start anew\u2014hopefully they will get accepted & we can get sponsors for their schooling\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The city mayor said \u201cno more warnings\u201d to the sari-sari stores, 7\/11, groceries and supermarket selling liquor, cigarettes, vapes, or any illegal substances to minors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf we get hard evidence like video footage that your store is selling to minors, I will revoke your business permit and close your establishment immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
