The program officially began with a Trainers’ Training on Financial Literacy for the City Government of Tagbilaran employees on July 23\u201324 at Kew Hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The session was designed to equip city personnel with the knowledge and capacity to serve as financial literacy champions within their offices and communities\u2014ensuring the program\u2019s sustainability beyond the initial rollout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also, on July 23, a Financial Literacy Session (FLS) for the agri-fisheries sector was held at Kew Hotel, providing farmers and fisher folk with practical lessons on savings, budgeting, responsible borrowing, and financial planning\u2014empowering them to make informed financial decisions and improve their economic well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On July 24, BSP and BDO Foundation organized a Learning Session on the Integration of Financial Education in the Academic Curriculum, which was also held at KEW Hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The session gathered educators and administrators from Tagbilaran City College and other colleges and universities in the city to discuss the inclusion of financial education topics in higher education curricula, recognizing its vital role in preparing students for real-world financial challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The three-day program concluded on July 25 with a Financial Literacy Session for the youth and general public, held at the Tagbilaran City College (TCC) Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Topics such as budgeting, digital banking, saving strategies, and scam prevention were discussed to empower young Tagbilaranons and everyday citizens with practical financial skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mayor Jane C. Yap expressed her full support for the program, emphasizing its significance in building a financially resilient city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She noted that by educating the public on how to manage their finances wisely, the initiative contributes not only to individual empowerment but also to the collective progress of the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For Mayor Yap, financial literacy is more than just managing money\u2014it is about creating better opportunities, making informed life choices, and securing a better future for every Tagbilaranon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
