AT long last the Filipino people had spoken!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Twelve members of the Senate of the Philippines, and hundreds of Congressmen of the different Congressional Districts of the country and Party-List group had been elected. They are to be sworn in to office before the first day of July this year if only to begin to perform their respective duties this month of July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Senate, more than half of the total membership  are newcomers. The ratio of the old member winning candidates in the Lower House are almost the same as that of the Senate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the local level, local Incumbents in some provinces in the country suffered defeats. Governor Gwen Garcia \u2013 a veteran politician of Cebu province –  lost to a newcomer with a very wide  margin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our province of Bohol is of no exception. A veteran politician\u201ds 2025 candidacy that began during the Kabataang Barangay days started was easily dumped to the garbage can. His first elective position was that of a Kabataang Barangay Chairman which easily catapulted him to be a member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan that year to represent the youth sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And, because of a political stronghold held by the family that almost dominated the entire province in those particular years, his election to the Kabataang Barangay was only the start of an array of political positions the following years.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Short Cuts\u2019 memory does not fail him, he was first elected as the town executive after his tenure as the Kabataang Barangay Chairman. Later on, he was elected regular member of Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Congressman of his district, Vice-Governor and Governor of the Province. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But, his congressional candidacy this year was a total failure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was an unexpected election result!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was handily defeated by a newcomer with a wide margin.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And, this year\u201ds election at the Local Government Unit of Valencia proved another point!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 All the opposition local candidates in the last election did not survive. And, they lost in all the thirty-five (35) barangays of the town<\/p>\n\n\n\n
