CHANGING BOHOL\u2019S LANDSCAPES.\u00a0 <\/strong>\u00a02024 saw in Bohol a construction boom that showed some P788 million in construction costs for the 400 projects which the PSA tracked through the building permit applications. (PIABohol)<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

According to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in Bohol which gathered the census on population and housing, December 2024 pooled a total of 275 million worth of construction projects bringing the total value of constructions by the end of 2024 to P788 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the type of constructions, PSA reports 297 of these were residential, which are comprised of some 282 projects in single house units costing a total of P201 million, 13 units of apartments and accessories costing P 39.7 million and two more other residential projects at P.6 million.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the total P241 million which Boholanos invested in residential areas, 94% or some 292 construction projects are single residential houses, only 4.3 percent of 13 apartments and condominiums were built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even then, the government\u2019s Home Development Mutual Fund or Pag-ibig Fund continues to call on local government units to partner with them to provide low cost housing especially for middle to low income workers in Tagbilaran City and nearby towns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The year also saw 80 non-residential construction projects: 60 of which are commercial projects amounting to P391 million, 10 institutional construction projects costing a total of P97 million, three industrial construction projects worth P1.5 million, five agricultural building construction at P28 million and P.7 million worth of the two other non-residential projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of the 400 constructions all over Bohol, for 2024, 14 of these projects were building alterations and repair, 4 were additions to earlier structures and 3 for other constructions that can not be categorized appropriately.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And if to see how Boholanos take on the opportunity for the booming tourism and commerce, the past year saw 60 construction projects of the commercial use costing P391 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, the development in construction appears to be evenly spread even in the towns away from known and established commercial districts, several of them sprouting along new highways and road opening projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The year also saw the opening of 10 institutional construction projects, three industrial projects, 5 agricultural projects and two more other non-residential projects, according to the PSA. (PIABohol).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
