BLOOD DONOR.\u00a0 <\/strong>The City Government of Tagbilaran intensifies its efforts to promote voluntary blood donation through a month-long mobile blood donation drive this April. Led by the Tagbilaran City Primary Care Facility (TCPCF), the initiative brings life-saving services closer to residents in various barangays, reinforcing the city\u2019s commitment to accessible healthcare and a reliable supply of blood.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

THE City Government of Tagbilaran through the Tagbilaran City Primary Care Facility (TCPCF) will be conducting a series of mobile blood donation drive throughout the month of April, bringing life-saving blood donation services closer to the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The donation drive will be held in the covered courts of the following barangays: April 7 in Cogon, April 9 in Poblacion II, April 23 in Manga, and April 28 in Tiptip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

City Health Officer Dr. Jeia Pondoc encouraged eligible residents to take part in the initiative, emphasizing that blood donation is a simple yet impactful way to help those in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donors must meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* should be aged 18 to 59 years old<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* should weigh at least 50 kilos<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* should not be under medication<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* should be in good physical\/health condition<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* should pass the initial blood sampling screening<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* should be well-rested and properly hydrated before donation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tagbilaran City\u2019s unwavering commitment to voluntary blood donation has earned top recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Provincial Government of Bohol, the Provincial Health Office, and the Department of Health recently honored the city for its exemplary performance in ensuring an adequate and safe supply of blood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The city received the highly coveted Platinum Award, making it one of only two awardees and the sole LGU honoree for its outstanding efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2023 alone, Tagbilaran conducted 24 mobile blood donation drives, collecting a record-breaking 614 units of blood\u2014the highest in the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the city bagged the Silver Award for achieving a remarkable blood donation rate of 0.870%, further highlighting its vital role in strengthening the province\u2019s blood supply network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Robin Culpa of TCPCF invites the public to take part in this noble cause, emphasizing that a single blood donation can save multiple lives. \u201cThis initiative is not just about donating blood; it is about giving hope and a second chance at life to those who need it most,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
