YEARS back, Short Cuts<\/em> wrote on his column about the wrong installation of the \u201cBlood Compact\u201d monument in Bool District, this city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If memory does not fail him, this particular item was discussed almost twice in a period of five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To Short Cuts,<\/em> his \u2018\u2019cry\u201d was not groundless.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His objection was anchored on the issue that the incident, as reported in History books, really happened near a river.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If such is the case, how can the Blood Compact between Dagohoy, the Boholano Chieftain, and Rajah Sikatuna ever happen in Bool District considering the fact that no river exists in Bool District?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For almost a month, however, Short Cuts<\/em> \u2013 in his almost daily trips to his hometown in Valencia –  was happy to observe something that seems to correct a mistaken fact of history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The monument was already removed!\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But, the monument is nowhere to be found!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Was it ever erected somewhere else in the province?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is beyond Short Cuts\u2019<\/em> knowledge. Neither do the immediate neighbors knew the whereabouts of the monument when interviewed by Short Cuts.<\/em>                                              <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At his own initiative, therefore, Short Cuts<\/em> had to proceed to Villalimpia, Loay with only one purpose \u2013 to know if the Blood Compact Monument was transferred to that area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a fact that Villalimpia, Loay is a rival area during the construction of the Blood Compact Monument. Series of silent discussions among learned Boholanos erupted after the monument was established in Bool District, City of Tagbilaran during the Lino Chatto provincial administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was only when a Boholano leader spent his time to the Historical Commission, Manila and found out that the true and legal site of the Blood Compact is in Villalimpia, Loay, Bohol.        <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, it is now rectified!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The general public, tourists and visitors as well, will no longer be misled into believing that the site of the famous Blood Compact is indeed in Barangay Villalimpia, Municipality of Loay.   <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
