{"id":13279,"date":"2024-12-22T17:02:10","date_gmt":"2024-12-22T17:02:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/theboholtimes.com\/?p=13279"},"modified":"2024-12-29T15:45:54","modified_gmt":"2024-12-29T15:45:54","slug":"aboitiz-corp-takes-over-panglao-airport-operation-maintenance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theboholtimes.com\/?p=13279","title":{"rendered":"Aboitiz Corp takes over Panglao airport operation, maintenance"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"\">THE takeover of the operations and maintenance of the Bohol Panglao International Airport (BPIA) in Panglao town has officially been forged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">In a formal ceremony at the Kalayaan Hall in Malaca\u00f1ang, Manila, President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. and Aboitiz Group CEO Sabin Aboitiz led the signing of the concession agreement for the takeover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Accordingly, the goal of Aboitiz Infra-Capital (AIC) is to transform the six-year-old airport into a \u201cworld-class\u201d gateway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Under the P4.53-billion concession agreement, AIC will undertake the airport\u2019s development and modernization over a 30-year period after the official turnover in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The BPIA\u2019s capacity will be increased to 3.9 million passengers annually from the current 2 million in two construction phases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The project will also include the construction of a new passenger terminal and installation of additional equipment and facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u201cWith this investment, the [BPIA] will be modernized. Its capacity will be expanded and its passenger service experience will be significantly improved,\u201d said Aboitiz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u201cWe may have the most beautiful beaches in the world and f the concession agreement for its takeover the most beautiful islands and resorts in the world, but you need good airports to get there,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Governor Aris Aumentado, first district Rep. Edgar Chatto, second district Rep. Vanessa Aumentado, and third district Rep.
