TWO new roads in Ubay and San Miguel are set to be concreted by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) after ground breaking ceremonies were conducted on April 12, 2022. These projects will further hasten the mobility between the different communities it serves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The San Miguel-Bayongan-Bulilis-Mabuhay Road is intended to become a shorter route between the towns of San Miguel and Ubay. It will traverse the areas of Barangays Bayongan in San Miguel, Bulilis and San Pascual (Mabuhay), both in Ubay. The road will provide easy access to Bayongan Dam and the different rice fields and farmlands located in the area. The project will cost Php130,000,000 and is sourced from the General Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2021 (RA 11639).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other access road leading to Tapal Wharf in Ubay will cross the different agricultural lands and fruit plantations located in Barangays Imelda, Benliw, and Calanggaman, still in the same municipality. It will promote fast transport of goods and people that will help raise the standard of living in those areas. The project will cost Php121,512,555.00 and is also sourced from RA 11639.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Groundbreaking for both projects were attended by DPWH representatives, municipal and barangay officials, and the residents of those areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Congressman Erico Aristotle \u201cAris\u201d C. Aumentado of the Second District of Bohol, who was present in both ceremonies, reminded the people living in the area to take good care of these infrastructure projects, as these would benefit them in the long term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
