THE provincial government showed what appeared to be its dismal performance on key issues, especially on controlling graft and corruption, presented by the Bohol Poll 2022 of Holy Name University on April 8, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bohol Poll 2022 said that the provincial government of Bohol got a net negative three (-3) in its effort to curb graft and corruption. It nosedived from +20 in 2019, Bohol Poll showed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOne-third (35%) of the Boholano voters were satisfied with the performance of the provincial government in its efforts to control graft and corruption while four out ten (38%) were dissatisfied which resulted in a net satisfaction rating of -3, twenty-five points lower than the 2019 survey result (+20),\u201d Bohol Poll said. The undecided (respondent) was placed at 27%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The survey was conducted from February 28 to March 21, 2022. There were no face-to-face surveys done in 2020 and 2021 apparently due to pandemic that hit the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In some key issues like promoting investment, the province got +31, lower than +42 in 2019 and providing livelihood opportunities and employment, the province posted +31, still lower than +32 in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Capitol got +38 (2022) very much lower than +50 in 2019 in protecting the environment; promoting tourism, +56 lower than +69 in 2019; protecting life and property, +45 down from +52 in 2019; ensuring adequate food supply, +35 from +43 in 2019; and support for promotion of agriculture, +33 from +34 in 2019, Bohol Poll said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Performance of the city government, according to Bohol Poll, showed that promoting investment has reduced to +65 from +81 in 2019; providing adequate water, +87 from +88 in 2019; and protecting life and property, +59 from +70 in 2019; and providing livelihood, +61 from +63 in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The city\u2019s struggle in other key issues has improved, however. Protecting the environment posted +62 from just +46 in 2019; traffic management, +58 from +28 in 2019; and curbing graft and corruption, +39 from 36 in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the \u201cimmediate actions done by Boholanos in response to their personal experience of graft and corruption in government offices,\u201d respondents said it is 100% and none answered \u201cdid not give money.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe incidence of graft and corruption in Bohol was 0.074%. This was personally experienced in Land Transportation Office (LTO) Tagbilaran where money was given and the incident was not reported,\u201d Bohol Poll said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eighty-four percent (84%) of the respondents said that \u201cit is not necessary to give bribe money to government employees since it is their responsibility to provide good services to the people.
