NOW, it is beginning to show the true meaning of the name!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forty-three years ago, an educational institution was born in this capital City of Tagbilaran. Founded by a young couple with six (6) kids, three (3) in the primary grades and the other three (3) still in the care of their respective yayas<\/em>, the school began to offer technical-vocational courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The couple decided not to compete frontally with the already existing three (3) tertiary educational institutions in the city at that time. Out of the three, two had already earned big names in the province in the field of education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, the couple diverted the plan to offering first non-degree programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vocational courses have to offered first!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consequently thereafter, two courses \u2013 Typewriting and Stenography \u2013 that have to be completed only within five (5) months were offered. In that same year, courses in Auto-Mechanics and Driving, Master Plumbing, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology \u2013 courses that would be completed in only one year – were also added to the list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Foremost, however, was the offering of the Two-Year Courses in Midwifery and General Radio Communication Operators (GRCO) \u2013 both board courses – in that same particular year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All the above-mentioned courses were not offered in any educational institution in the whole province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And, wonders among wonders and UNEXPECTEDLY, the school got a total of 520 enrollees in its first year of operation!                       <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In its third (3rd) and fourth (4th) year of operation, the school increased in its enrolment considering the fact that almost 90% of the graduates easily got employed. This was further tremendously recorded when the first batch of Midwifery and GRCO graduates got a 90% percent passing average in the government examinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The name of the school?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originally named BOHOL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, it is now BIT INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE with five other campuses. Owned by Short Cuts\u2019 family, the school is beginning to be true to its name \u2013 the BIT INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For more than four (4) years, BIT International College had been regularly sending ten (10) Engineering and Agriculture graduating students and graduates every year to Japan to undergo On-the-Job training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In some cases, these students are taken in as regular employees after their On-the-Job Training.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, three weeks ago, a group of around nine (9) Chinese nationals visited the residence of Short Cuts. Five of them are also owners of tertiary schools in their place. They wanted to have an internship program among our respective schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plan is now ongoing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And now, the Chairman of the OGINO GROUP OF COMPANIES, MR. NORIO OGINO and with 18 other Japanese visitors, are in our province again. This is Mr. OGINO\u2019s second visit to the Bit school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And no longer as a simple visitor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is now the Commencement Speaker of the school\u2019s 74th Graduation Exercises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If plans will not miscarry, another batch of BIT graduates will soon be in Japan.         <\/p>\n\n\n\n
