THE Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) vowed seamless services for its members and pensioners amid natural disasters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wick Veloso, GSIS president and general manager, said that part of the pension fund’s ongoing digital transformation efforts is to enhance its disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For this reason, Veloso said that GSIS has renewed its collaboration with the data center subsidiary of PLDT Enterprise and VITRO Inc. to achieve this goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Veloso said the partnership entails GSIS further using VITRO’s colocation services and data center infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, PLDT Enterprise will deliver network services and Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP-VPN) backhaul to ensure seamless infrastructure connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe GSIS is embarking on a significant initiative that will enhance its disaster recovery plan and help ensure that reliable service is available to our members and pensioners anytime, anywhere,\u201d Veloso said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mitch Locsin, PLDT and Smart first vice president and head of enterprise and international core business said they are honored to be entrusted with the colocation service for the disaster recovery site of GSIS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOur aim is to ensure that in the event of calamities, GSIS can continue to uphold the welfare of government employees and their families, ensure timely delivery of social benefits, and foster financial security,\u201d Locsin said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In partnering with the GSIS for its disaster recovery project, PLDT Enterprise and VITRO reaffirmed their commitment to support digital transformation and provide technology that enhances service efficiency, benefiting millions of government employees and pensioners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this month, GSIS also hired Sycip, Gorres, Velayo (SGV), and Ernst and Young (EY) to create a new plan for its IT infrastructure to improve capabilities and processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
