(Contributed)<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"\">ANDA, Bohol &#8211; Municipal Mayor Angelina \u201cInday\u201d Simacio of this premier tourist town in the easternmost part of Bohol led the inauguration of its 9-bed Municipal Infirmary, which is actually equivalent to a hospital, Municipal councilor John Deligero exclusively told this writer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The mayor was so emotional when she delivered her speech after she and representatives of the Department of Health, acting governor Victor Balite and congresswoman Alexie Tutor and town officials cut the ceremonial ribbon on Friday, June 28, 2024, the councilor said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Simacio, a nurse by profession, once dreamt that she and her town could put up a hospital as her top priority since she was very much concerned of the health of the townsfolk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u201cSaad Gituman alang sa mga pinalanggang KATAWHANG ANDAHANON. Tutor, municipal officials, doctors and representatives of DOH region 7 witnessed the inauguration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">An infirmary, like a hospital, is mainly focused on the prevention and cure of the sick, infirmary head Dr. Remedios Teves in an exclusive interview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The health facility is served by 25 personnel with three doctors of medicine, including Teves, and 11 nurses and other servants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The infirmary includes the 6-bed birthing facility that serves an average of 120 every year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The infirmary is funded locally and it caters the out-patient, laboratory for CBC, rapid antigen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The building construction located beside the town\u2019s gym is provided by the Banco De Oro foundation thru a Memorandum of Agreement with counterpart fund from the local government here and the provincial government. And the municipality provided the furnishings and other needs in equipment, Deligero said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The health facility initiated by the LGU here is considered an economic enterprise, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The infirmary task is to serve the over 20,000 people here, Deligero said.
