One young boy\u2019s voice echoes the confusion and despair of many. \u201cI don\u2019t know about the big guys, but if you\u2019re speaking about the kids, and if you want to know the truth, we don\u2019t even know why we are punished. It\u2019s five years in this prison \u2026 We don\u2019t even know what we\u2019ve done. We\u2019ve been in prison because of our parents.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In John 9:2-3, when Jesus\u2019 disciples ask about a man born blind, \u201cRabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?\u201d Jesus responds, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned… but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.” <\/em>Jesus refutes the idea that man\u2019s condition was a direct punishment for sin, emphasizing instead God\u2019s purpose and glory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
