Confusion among the Boholanos arose when the Ombudsman suspended only 69 while the remaining number of those allegedly involved in the Captain\u2019s Peak resort issue, like then Congressman Rene L. Relampagos and ex-congressman and governor Arthur C. Yap, allegedly charged with the offense were not suspended preventively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The said Order dated May 20, 2024 gave no explanation, however.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Political pundits observed that the Ombudsman\u2019s order probably indicted the entire 147 officials but effected the preventive suspension only against the 69 officials allegedly linked to the said issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aside from the governor, others similarly suspended are: Sagbayan Mayor Restituto Q. Suarez III, Batuan Mayor Atty. Antonino M. Jumawid, Catigbain Mayor Elizabeth Mandin-Pace, Clarin Mayor Eugeniano Ibarra, Bilar Mayor Norman Palacio, then Bilar Mayor Manuel Jayectin, then Mayor Sierra- Bullones Mayor Simplicio Maestrado, incumbent S-Bullones Mayor Atty. Michael Doria, then Valencia Mayor Katrina Lim, Valencia Mayor (actually former Valencia Vice-Mayor Calixto Garcia, incumbent Valencia Mayor Neil Balite, Bilar Vice-Mayor Ranulfo Maligmat, former Carmen Mayor Ricardo Francisco Toribio and incumbent Carmen Mayor Conchita T. delos Reyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also suspended are: Regional Director of EMB Ma. Victoria Abrera, Civil Defense Regional Director Eugene Cabrera, DA Regional Director Joel Elumba, Civil Defense Regional Director Marlou Salazar, DOST Regional Director Edilberto Paradela, DOST Regional Director Jesus Zamora Jr., PNP 7 Region Director PGen Valeriano De Leon, DA 7 Regional Director Angel Enriquez, DENR 7 Regional Director Paquito Melicor, and former DA Regional Executive Director Atty. Salvador Diputado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also suspended were Sagbayan Municipal Building Official Alan Dinoy, Sagbayan Zoning Official Maximo Lomosbog, PAMB Secretariat Lorna Fernandez, OIC DENR\/CENRO Protected Area Superintendent Laurentino Bautista, CENRO\/DENR Ariel Rica and Bohol Provincial Planning Officer Atty John Titus Vistal, Bilar Tourism Officer Perfecto Bambe and DENR Region 7 Regional Director and PAMB Chair Gilbert Gonzales and 38 barangay chairmen in the towns where the protected areas are located who are PAMB members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
